Die Artemisininsäure ist eine organisch-chemische Verbindung aus der Klasse der Sesquiterpenoide und tritt in der Natur - neben Dihydroartemisininsäure - als Vorläufer-Verbindung und Begleiter des gegen Malaria wirksamen Artemisinins zum Beispiel im Einjährigen Beifuß Artemisia annua L. auf. Gleichzeitig dient die Artemisininsäure als Ausgangsstoff zur Synthese von Artemisinin mittels Durchfluss-Synthese.
