Eine Sicherheitswerkbank ist ein spezieller Arbeitsplatz für biologische, biochemische, gentechnische, mikrobiologische etc. Arbeiten, der durch seine Konstruktion die Arbeitssicherheit erhöht und die Kontamination der Proben wie auch der Umgebung verhindert. Je nach Leistungsfähigkeit der Sicherheitswerkbank unterscheidet man die Sicherheitsklassen I bis III.
